Dr. Jan Schmutz back from Antarctica
Jan just returned from a 3-week mission to Antarctica. Together with his collaborator Dr. Pedro Marques-Quinteiro (ISPA, Lisbon), they conducted observations and interviews with teams in the extreme Arctic environment.

The project investigates how teams are able to quickly and effectively respond to acute or on-going changes like sudden weather change, conflicts or equipment failure. So far, little is known about the processes and strategies how teams remain flexible and adapt to unexpected events in extreme environments.
The project is funded by the Portuguese Polar Program (PROPOLAR) and was awarded with a NTR-INGroup research grant from the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research (INGRoup).
